Meet Heather

Heather French has proudly called Caledon home for more than 50 years. Born and raised in the community, she and her husband built a successful multigenerational family farm while raising their four children. Her background as a schoolteacher gives Heather valuable insight into the needs of families, youth, rural communities, and local businesses.

A dedicated community volunteer, Heather has contributed countless hours to local organizations, school councils, youth sports, and 4-H. For nearly 30 years, she has played a leading role in organizing the Bolton Fall Fair and annual Bolton Truck and Tractor Pull, two longstanding traditions that celebrate Caledon’s agricultural roots while bringing rural and urban communities together.

Heather has served in executive roles on numerous community boards and worked with all levels of government, including serving on the Greenbelt Council and Caledon’s Committee of Adjustment.

With experience in education, agriculture, business, and public service, Heather brings a common-sense approach to leadership, financial responsibility, and community collaboration. She is committed to well-planned growth, transparent decision-making, preserving Caledon’s character, and putting residents first.

Heather has 30+ years of experience sitting on councils and boards of directors including the Committee of Adjustment and Provincial Greenbelt Council. This has given her a wealth of knowledge in policies, bylaws and budgets. As a successful business owner, she also brings experience with financial decisions, accountability, and long-term planning.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO VOTE?

You are eligible to vote if you are:

A Canadian citizen,
At least 18 years old,
A resident of the Town of Caledon, or
A non-resident, and you or your spouse owns or rents property in Caledon.

AM I ASSIGNED TO A VOTING PLACE?

No. Voters may vote at any voting place in the Town of Caledon.

At any voting location you attend, you will be issued a ballot for the ward that you reside in.

Heather French has proudly called Caledon home for over 50 years. Born and raised in the community, she met her husband while working locally and together they raised their four children in this beautiful town. Heather holds both a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Early Childhood Education, which led to many rewarding years as a teacher. Later, she and her husband purchased the family farm and grew it into a successful, multigenerational business. Through her experience in education, agriculture, and business, Heather brings practical leadership, financial responsibility, and a collaborative approach to serving the residents of Ward 4.

A passionate and active community volunteer, Heather has dedicated countless hours to local organizations, school councils, sports programs, and 4-H throughout her life. She has received multiple awards for her commitment to giving back to her community, including 2 Queen Jubilee medals, Town of Caledon Civic award and OAAS Meritorious Service Award. She has also been a proud member of the Albion and Bolton Agricultural Society for more than 30 years, reflecting her commitment to agriculture and her passion for bridging the gap between rural and urban communities by helping people better understand where their food comes from. Heather understands the issues that matter most to families, seniors, businesses, and neighbourhoods across Ward 4, and she is excited for the opportunity to serve her community in a new way as councillor.
